New Mexico Climate Champions WORKSHOP

Target Audience: 5th-8th Grade Teachers

 

 

Workshop will include:

 

  • Introduction to New Mexico Climate Champions

 

  • The opportunity to work with other educators and scientists to strengthen your content knowledge of climate change in NM

 

 

Participants will receive:

 

  • $200 stipend

 

  • $100 additional stipend upon completion of evaluations

 

  • Lunch provided both days

 

  • A copy of The Teacher Friendly Guide to Climate Change

 

  • A kit of supplies valued at $500 for inquiry-based activities

Learn About New Mexico Climate Champions

 

  • An innovative set of hands-on, NM-focused activities

 

  • Aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards

 

  • Available in two modules:

 

1. climate change and water

2. climate change and energy

 

  • Empowers students to turn new knowledge into action plans in their school or community
